2. Interesting, but also strange

that birdwatchers would unite with bird hunters under a single banner against Bushbaby. Not sure how I feel about that...! I've gotta think about that one.

3. not so strange

we have common interest in preserving habitat and maintaining populations. Ducks Unlimited does lots of good work. I've done lots of killer(poor choice of words!) birding at NWR's such as Blackwater and Pea Island They may shoot some birds, and we may disagree with them about some particulars, but they know enough about Nature not to shoot the Golden Goose.

It's past time that we start whacking the Evil Empire with some wedge issues ourselves.

4. Hubby belongs to TU

so I guess he's one of the "less than one third" of Democratic members.

From what I observe, they are a good bunch. They actually do a lot to preserve trout and their habitat. I'm glad they realize that their man Bush is not on their side when it comes to protecting our natural lands.
