Walking out of my house, I heard alot of commotion coming from the vicinity of a bird nest perched in a vine. Feathers were flying everywhere, and I saw the momma bird frantically trying to fend off the attacker. I ran at them like a crazy woman, waving my arms wildly. The Blue Jay flew off with momma bird in hot persuit. Even though there was a huge difference in their size, the momma chased off the BJ. I grabbed a ladder from inside the house, and climbed up to peer into the nest. There was a very bloody, dead baby bird. I removed it from the nest and buried it. No birds will go near this nest now, and it had been used for years. Should I go ahead and remove it since the smell of death might be around it?
