thought i heard a great grey owl

when i was in southern wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. kinda south for one. i was there 3 nights, but only heard it the first. couldn't get him to respond to my call. only heard it a few times. this is the top of my wanna-see list. damn, so close, and yet so far away.
anyone know of a bird spotting website for this area? i was in lake geneva.

2. i was looking for sightings

wondering if anyone else saw/heard great greys in that area, or even that far south.
also up to date range info would be good. i did not check a range map, just going on my recollection that this is pretty far south, except during a very hard winter.
