So does massively vigorous housecleaning count as a workout?
I keep forgetting to post because I've moved the workout to really early in the morning, and shortened it because I've been reconfiguring the house and cleaning it quite thoroughly. I've done everything from wallpapering to serious scrubbing over the past few weeks (plus the regular stuff like laundry). I don't think I've had a sit on my butt day in at least a month.

It seems to be working; I'm losing weight, and I fall into bed tired every night. But how do I document this?

1. It counts on Weight Watchers.
We can earn "activity points" which we have to use that day, if we're going to use them (that is, eat them!) I did two hours of cleaning floors the other day and earned 8 points which is about the same as I would earn doing two hours on the elliptical. However, two hours of jogging is 20 points, if that helps.

Here's an exercise calculator that might help you out: http://www.caloriecontrol.org/exercalc.html

It's the first one that came up when I googled "exercise calculator" so there may be others that are more extensive.

Congratulations on getting all that work done AND losing weight! :toast:

2. Here's another site

http://www.exrx.net/ On the left side of the page that comes up is a menu that leads to fitness calculator, which then offers various stuff including calorie expenditures, and housework is included in their list.

3. If you keep your heart rate up for a good length of time
then yes. It is better than sitting and watching TV.
