Firefighter to spend 24 hours on stair machine for charity

<snip> Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Central Market in Mill Creek, Bill starts his climb on the stair machine.

And Saturday he will honor the memory of his friend from high school.

"Chris would be proud," says Sandy Ekse.

Chris Petterson is one of Bill's best friends who died 8 years ago.

"He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma," says Bill.

So at Chris' funeral, Bill knew he had do something for his buddy. Climbing the stair machine for 24 hours straight is that something. It's also to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
