Rewards!
Do any of you have a planned reward in your head for when you meet your fitness goals?

I have a goal weight (17 pounds to go!) that if I achieve, I'm going to get my nose pierced.

1. That is an excellent idea
I have to think about what a good reward would be for myself

4. A friend gave me the idea
She had her own fitness goal of being able to run 5 miles without stopping, and when she did it, she upgraded to a nicer gym. I thought it was such a good idea, as sometimes those goals seem rather far off. If you've got two reasons to get there, it makes it a little easier!

2. Well, my next fitness goal is to complete the Danskin triathlon
which will be on my birthday. The only reward I have planned is CAKE.

3. That sounds like a most delightful reward
Good luck with the triathalon! How is the training going? I love reading your posts; you sound so dedicated and upbeat about your goals.

7. Training is slow
but it's my own fault. I let the weather give me excuses.

My only goal w/ this triathlon is to finish. I don't even care if I come in last.

For me, this is all about being active, not about being competitive.

I think at first, my fitness experience was about dedication. Now it is about pure, unadulterated greed. I love the way I feel, and I know that doing what I do is what makes me feel the way I do. I have to feel this way. I won't settle for less.

But I'm glad you take something positive away from my posts. I was thinking that maybe I ought to look into becoming a Phys Ed teacher. I would love to teach kids how to love movement.

6. One reward I already got is I can now pull the ball to left field
I was always an opposite field hitter. Now I have major zing in my bat.
