DNC Launches 3-Pronged Radio Campaign Against Bush
Targets African American, Latino, and Rural Voters Washington, DC - The Democratic National Committee (DNC) today launched a three-pronged radio advertising campaign informing African American, Latino, and rural voters nationwide of George W. Bush's plan to cut Social Security's guaranteed benefits.
Targeting rural voters, "Heartland" begins today and will first air in Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Timed to coincide with President Bush's visit to those states, "Heartland" asks voters to call specific Republican Members of Congress already facing opposition from constituents over the President's risky plan - Mike Rogers of Alabama, Ann Northup of Kentucky, Jim McCrery of Louisiana, and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.
Next week, the DNC will air two additional ads, "Community" and "Familias." "Familias," a Spanish language ad targeting Latino voters, will pay specific attention to the role Social Security has played in strengthening Latino families over the years and the threat families face under the Bush plan.
