Schiavo =Malpractice Award, reflects National Health need - & MSM says ?
Why is there no Democratic Party discussion of the Bush Tort "reform" and the fact that the $700,000 award (with $350,000 still left) that is keeping her alive came from a 1992 medical malpractice case?
And why is the no discussion of the need for single payer National Health that saves us 1/3 of current medical costs by turning Health Insurance folks into claims processors for a contracted out national health system. We save money on legal costs, medical costs, and save on emotional costs.
But Democrat Party top names seem unwilling to discuss this side of the Schiavo case - do they need new spines, new brains, or both?

WASHINGTON (AP) - Congress leaders announced agreement Saturday on legislation they said would allow a severely brain-damaged woman to resume being fed while a federal court decides the right-to-die battle between her parents and her husband. <snip>
Final approval was expected Sunday when the House planned to meet in a special session, he said. The Senate planned to pass a resolution Saturday evening that would let House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., call the House into session on Sunday.

Rep. James Sensenbrenner, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said the legislation would move the case to federal court where a judge would determine who has the legal right to decide the question of nutrition and hydration for Schiavo and whether they can be terminated.
Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., said the measure was "narrowly targeted," does not set a precedent and would allow Schiavo to resume being fed and hydrated during the legal appeals.
