I Hate That Damn Commerical:
You know the one that says,Democrats have No Plan for Social Security and has that little clock counting seconds.

I have yet to see one Democratic sponsored commerical defending themselves or even criticzing Bush for anything. Why is the Democratic Party failing to fight back ecspecially with Gov. Dean as Chairman?

4. Doesn't have to be by funding a counter-ad
People on the left should be highlighting the falsity of the Thugs' ad in their appearances on free media.

2. I'm wondering the same thing
I've seen that ad probably 4 times over the past 24 hours, on various cable channels. There is one AARP ad airing in opposition to *'s SS plan (wrecking the house to fix a clogged sink), but nothing else. Considering that the "time clock" ad is patently FALSE (Democrats DO have a plan for SS: LEAVE IT ALONE but fix the solvency problem either by rolling back all *'s tax cuts or raising the wage cap), I'm angered and frustrated that there doesn't seem to be anyone doing damage control on it.

3. That ad is a piece of republican-neo-conservative propaganda
....shit!!!! :spray:

Exactly what PLAN has George Dudya put on the table? Only made up claims fictitious benefits, but no PLAN that can be examined.

6. I take some comfort in AARP's
advertisements that counter this argument. Though it does seem lots of $ is being spent on this particular mind bender. As usual, they have nothing more substantial to say than to bash Dems.

9. AARP has a lot of redeeming to do, given that organization...
...sold it's membership base down the toilet on Medicare last year. The privatization of medicare has already begun to the tune of $25 trillion and seniors will be without affordable medical coverage in a few years because of what AARP did.

I take nothing that AARP does moving forward at face value. I tore up my AARP card and have refused all attempts from them to re-establish a connection. The sooner AARP disappears from the American scene the better off all seniors will be.

7. Why waste the money
when the "plan" has so little support (35%, last I knew).

Besides, AARP is doing a great job!

8. They are just mad that Dems didn't jump in and come up with all
sorts of ideas...but put the breaks on. If the dems come up with the ideas then the Dems take the blame for the change in SS.

Bush's plan is totally vague. He does not put it on paper. It was just bait it seems to get the Dems into coming up with their own cuts.

Dems didn't bite.

Let the add run. It is obviously not going well for the Repukes. The numbers just keep falling.

I would say wherever the WH complains... don't respond. You don't respond to a sociopath. You ignore them. And then they cannot stage-manage the show and everyone else's perception of reality.

The Democrats in both houses seemed to have 'disengaged'. Perfect! That is exactly what they need to do. Follow their own internal clocks and leave the WH & the Repukes running around on their 'stage' like a bunch of idiots.
