Orlando Sentinel My Word Op-Ed: Thank you, Democrats

After getting kicked, beaten and abused for the past five years, you would think by now that Washington Democrats would recognize the source of their failures.

It's cowardice.

They laid down when Republicans stole the presidency in 2000, remained silent when Iraq was falsely tied to 9-11 and stepped back en masse when Republican lies led to war. Only when Howard Dean mobilized the party base by speaking up did Washington Democrats speak out. They fought against Dean so John Kerry could slip into the mainstream and win the nomination as a "safe choice."

Some choice.

Just because Washington Democrats believe the corrosive rhetoric of Republicans and seem willing to turn the nation over without a fight doesn't mean that I have to give an inch. America's too important for that. I'm going to speak up and fight back and pour on the steam until the very end.

I feel! I wish it weren't true..it feels so terrible to have his words describe what's been going on the last 5 years.

The great paradox is that "family values"..republican style are akin to having no morals at ALL!
