I know I know we Dem's shouldn't be going against people with a (D) next to there name but for the love of God dose Lieberman deserve the (D)? I'm wondering if theres Democrat in Connecticut who's going to try to challenge Lieberman in '06

2. Why not kick him out of the party?
Hell! The Labor Party kicked out one of their best men in George Galloway. Why can't the Dems find the strength to kick out the guy who outside of evironmental issues - holds absolutely nothing in common with any Democrat besides Zell Miller?

This dick has got to go if the Dems wish to mean business in 2006 and beyond.

6. I'm sorry, but that's a stupid statement
Lieberman agrees with the Democrats on pretty much everything except some aspects of foreign policy and some parts of the so-called "culture war."

He is probably the most liberal man in the Senate when it comes to race issues.

And EVERY Democratic senator has pretty much an identical position on Israel.

8. That's going a little far
I wouldn't say he has nothing in common with the party outside environmental issues. If you look at his http://www.issues2000.org/Joseph_Lieberman.htm">voting record and opinions, you'll see that he's much more liberal than some give him credit for (the fact that he's rated 0% by the Christian Coalition and 100% by NARAL makes him not all bad in my book). But I do agree he's not on the progressive side and that there's plenty of other candidates that better represent Democratic ideals.

3. I know he drives you nuts. I know he does. And if it was votes in
my country that were going seemingly willy-nilly to neocons..I would be right with you.

However - I do think that Lieberman is in a bind of sorts. Israel is on the line and if it was your people..you may be playing kissy, kissy with the devil to make sure a long term peace occurs in that part of the world.

I hate to think of the Bush Admin getting advice and consent only from total Kool-Aid drinkers in this issue. (as if the people of the middle east are going to be thrilled to have American corporations the givers of all sustenance in Arab nation after Arab nation..which is the neocon plan for the world). If that is Lieberman's role.. I feel he must be left to play out that role. Clinton too tried to reach out to Bush & his family. If not for political gain for his wife (how could that possibly be) then for the good of the country.

I'm sorry for what is going on in the US. It must hurt every time there is a vote and footsie going on with those monsters. I personally don't think Lieberman personally, as a human being, has any other choice. I don't know how much 'pounds of flesh are being extracted from him'. Personally I do not care about that as much as I care that neocons themselves are not left alone to 'create the peace'.

I just try to keep in mind that to successfully dial down all the terrorists in the Middle East - there has to be a last peace in Palestine. And it has to happen now. Otherwise we will just go on like this. And 'this' in the Middle East..is not acceptable.

Sorry if I disturb. I really am. If he angers his constituents enough and looses his seat. So be it. But I don't like to see us attack someone for being themselves..and not doing what they feel they need to do in the deepest places in their hearths and mind. We slam freepers all the time for voting against their best interests. I feel that somehow..Lieberman is voting his best interests. That puts him under the big Democratic Tent. And while we watch the repukes begin to fracture for all the WH & GOP created fractions and tribalism..we have to thank our lucky stars that we were not so stupid as to try and 'make - up' coalitions...but that we try to function as a party made up of people with real issues and real difference.

Perhaps I am wrong. But I do cross my fingers that peace in Israel will actually be something real rather than neocon Utopian. Cause they tried perpetual war there..and it has not helped the people of that region at all.

7. Name one Democratic Senator who has a different position on Israel
You can't name one.

So why single out Lieberman?

4. Check this out:
http://www.timetogojoe.com I don't know the answer, but in a solid blue state like Connecticut, surely there is a more progressive candidate to challenge him. The hardcore red states may be happy with anyone with a "D" beside their name, but in this case there really is no excuse,in my opinion.
