Harold Ford, congressman from Tennessee, on Howard Dean
"I won't have him down so many times in Tennessee on the campaign trail with me. He has made some comments as of late that really speak to a lack of understanding I think, of the country, a lack of understanding of faith and values. I'm a Democrat and I'm a God-fearing one. I grew up in church. Christianity is not reserved for white males. I think perhaps Governor Dean sometimes gets a little excited at the mouth, and says things that are simply not true. It may reach a point where if he can't find a way to kind of control some of his comments, and temper his comments, it may get to the point where the party may need to look elsewhere for leadership..."

1. You're welcome to your opinion Mr Ford
But you're missing the boat.

Hopefully (for your sake) you'll still be in office when the next one sets sail.

2. "Christianity is not reserved for white males." What the fuck?
That statement demonstrates exactly how well Ford comprehended what Dean said. Which is to say, not at all.

3. Ford needs the repubs
or at least a portion of them to get elected to the Senate...he's "triangulating" the centrist Repub vote and using Dean as the vehicle....

I've been down on his case since he's become an Imus in the Morning favorite....

4. Why do people PRETEND what Dean said isn't true
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 09:17 PM by Catch22Dem
Hey Ford, all he said was that the repuke party was primarily white xtian. This is a true statement and I don't need a demographics chart to know it.

Harold Ford can put on his pink tutu and dance off into the sunset with Biden and Lieberman.

7. Well, that went right over his head, didn't it?
There's a DINO that won't be getting any of my money in '06.

13. The two men mentioned most often as possible first black president
That Obama and Ford both distance themselves from Dean speaks volumes about how dangerous the "Republicans are a mostly white Christian" meme is for the Democratic party.

9. Ford is a loser
He made those comments on the Imus show. He'd rather suck up to the beltway establishment and whores than say the truth about a real Dem. He is dumb as a god damn rock. I echo the thoughts that this fool gets no money from me.

11. Are these people really saying this stuff?
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 09:49 PM by Proud_Lefty
We've all seen firsthand the media take some comments made and twist them around so the original intent of what was said is completely turned around. Is this any different? (On edit, I posted this and saw that he said it on Imus. But I still wonder if some of these stories are twisted.) I don't trust the media's interpretation on any Dean stories right now. If these Democrats are really saying this stuff, they are definitely scared of having their status quo upset. Who cares about the broken system that is jeopardizing our freedom and our future when their job security may be at stake?

I remember when Dean first took over the DNC and the first thing he did was send out emails to everyone, asking the people what they wanted. He listened to what the people wanted and now he's running with it. These elected officials don't seem to understand that when Dean speaks, he really does speak for us. The way it's suppose to be. They need to know that the people are tired of all the B.S., of the DINO's, and are ready to take their country back.

In other words, shape up or ship out.

thank you, Dr. Dean

"I thought I heard a Republocrat."

Time to put and keep on a blue jersey, Harold. We can't win this crucial game to save our democracy and country when you sport a red jersey or throw the ball to the opponent.

Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their country (and party).

btw, Harold, who is supplying your talking points?
