1. Well, I'm not sure
Joan drove a nationalistic campaign. She saw the need for a head of state for France (the dauphin). She definitely had a vision and drove toward it. She was cogniscent of symbols as to how to use them on the battlefield. She was absolutely driven because her voices told her what to do. Today, people might interpret that as crazy, so we have to be careful with our comparisons. I personally think the Rosa Parks analogy is better for us. Joan of Arc refers back to a different time and culture. We should stay away from it, really (altho I kind of like Joan!).

2. mmm not a good idea
she was a religious nut, who heard voices. Helped a feeble King to win some major victories against the British. They took revenge by accusing her of witchcraft and and burned her alive at stake. Disgusted by their own behaviour, they left France except Calais.

3. Cindy seems like a wonderful person but lets not canonize her just yet.

4. Cindy's trying to stop a war, not LEAD one!
The only thing they have in common is they were both raised Catholics.(although when Shaw wrote SAINT JOAN, he did try to claim Joan as history's first Protestant.)
