Proposal for the 2008 national platform: International Trade and Economic Justice
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 08:47 PM by Ken Burch
What does everyone think of this as platform language?

"We recognize that globalization has, in many if not most cases, done far more harm than good to the majority of the world’s people.

Accordingly, we will not use our power or influence to force other countries, particularly in the developing world, to embrace globalization and the brutal structural adjustment programs associated with it.

We will strive instead for a global economic order based on the right to a decent standard living and a survivable environment for all the world’s people.

And we will not attempt to dictate the economic systems and choices of other nations by any means."

Just a suggestion.

1. I've sent this proposal to several campaigns to see what reaction they'd have.
