Sniper Story Causing Doubts Among Super Delegates
Sniper Story Causing Doubts Among Super Delegates :applause:
By Hill Truth | The Hillary Project

By Charles Hurt & Maggie Haberman

NY POST - The fallout over Hillary Rodham Clinton's false claim of facing sniper fire in Bosnia has dented her credibility with undecided superdelegates just as she's wooing them to sway the nomination her way, some Democratic leaders said yesterday.

The incident "is perhaps a little more troubling" than some others where Clinton has been accused of padding her résumé as an experienced candidate, said lawyer Keith Roark, a Democratic National Committee member and superdelegate from Idaho.

"Anyone who's ever been in actual gunfire doesn't make a mistake about whether they were ducking their heads, because they wouldn't forget," added Roark, who said he's still undecided.

"She clearly said, 'I can remember . . . ' Her willingness to make that kind of a misstatement and the calculations that go into - that doesn't, in my mind, at least, put her in the most favorable light."

About 400 uncommitted superdelegates are expected to settle the nomination fight.

Susan Burgess, a Clinton superdelegate from North Carolina, acknowledged the fabrication could hurt the former first lady among undecided superdelegates.

"I think it will be a factor," Burgess said. "I don't think it will be a determining factor, but it will be a factor."

Waring Howe, a superdelegate from South Carolina who supports Barack Obama, said the Bosnia flap very well could damage her among other party bigwigs who already have concerns about her credibility.

"There is this issue for Sen. Clinton where her words don't necessarily match her past deeds," he said.

Meanwhile, 20 top Democratic donors who support Clinton wrote a letter criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for saying superdelegates should support the candidate with the most pledged delegates.

The letter noted the donors "have been strong supporters" of the House Democrats' fund- raising apparatus, but Pelosi stood by her statement.

2. What makes it so incredible to me is....
...having been under fire isn't something that most people see as a requirement to become Commander-in-Chief, I would think. So there wasn't any point in the embellishment. If she was trying to counter McSame's background in Vietnam, it pales in comparison to having been a POW who was tortured. The best thing her campaign could have done would have been to downplay issues of "sniper fire and war" altogether and concentrate on the issues that people are most worried about: How is she going to bring us to peace and keep Americans out of war zones?

And more to the point, if she'll tell such a ridiculous lie in order to become President, how far would she go with lying, if she became President???

5. yeah, anger makes us all capable of big errors and misspellings!
but a big welcome to you at DU, spuds. I am sorry for the situation that you're in and that is one of the reasons why we need a change. We really need to get big money out of politics, and I'm not sure that will happen with Clinton or Obama. Corporations need to start thinking of their employees, not their profits. Without a strong middle class, America will suffer.
