Comic Book day recap: July 21

So, in an effort to liven up the discussion in here, I thought I would start a thread where we could talk about the latest comics we've picked up. I figure there's several people like me who are like clockwork in hitting your friendly local comic book store (FLCBS) every Weds.

Yesterday was light for me-only got the new issues of PS238 and The Ultimates 2. I have to say that in the case of certain characters/teams, I am digging the Ultimate version much more than what is currently going on in the standard Marvel universe. This issue focuses on Valkyrie and gets into what happened to Thor, and has a particularly bad-ass closing panel.

PS238 is continuing with the Atlas/Captain Clarinet alien monarchy thing - good as usual, with the best comedic moments back on earth with the replacement Atlas, who turns out to be completely incompetent as a super hero.

I finally asked the guys to take Dark Wolverine out of my pull, and was cheered by other customers who overheard me. I am substituting the new X-men title, since it seems like it might be more focused than other X-titles lately (with the exception of Astonishing X-men), and looks to have a classic story line to lead off with (although the whole vampire thing is a little tired nowadays).

Anyone else get any interesting books?
