Anyone read the Blackest Night?
I got two HC graphics the other day.

Blackest Night

Blackest Night:Green Lantern.

I finished both earlier, and the story was decent/good, the build up to the end of Blackest Night(if it truly is the end) was pretty good. I enjoyed BN Green Lantern a whole lot more, this is the first time I've ever seen the different colored Lanterns, aka Red, Orange, Blue, Indigo, and White. The leader of the Red Lanterns(Attroticus sp) was great, and I have a fond appreciation of the Orange Lantern.

There are five other graphics of the BN out there that I have to get, but so far the story is good, the ending had a bit of cheeziness to it, but overall a lot better than I thought. The artwork/coloring was damn mind blowing to me.

1. Haven't read it. Are the other Lantern colors new to this series?
If so, I confess that I'm a bit apprehensive about it. It seems inevitable that we'll eventually see a series in which somebody wears a bunch of different colored rings for some kind of "beat the omnipotent guy" storyline.

Still, I like it when they resurrect (so to speak) characters that have been mothballed for many years, if they do it in an interesting way.

2. Sorry for the late response, had to donate...
I didn't realize my star ran out.

As for the other colors, I'm not sure how "new" they are, but they are very new to me. I only got one more of the Blackest Night HC's to read, and so far the interconnecting stories are pretty good, and the artwork is top notch. An aside, there are a lot of heroes/villians that I didn't even know where dead that are coming back as Black Lanterns...I've been out of the loop for ages, but I'm trying to fix that currently. I'm up to speed on the past month of Superman, and I plan on getting back issues and to keep current on JSA/Batman...I haven't collected real "comics" since 94, but I think I can make a monthly comic run to keep current.

3. I'm following the Blackest Night series, by reading Brightest Day
I got the two hard back covers of Brightest Day, and I am very hooked. I picked up the Brightest Day Green Lantern the other day, and it was very good. The addition of the different colors has really grabbed me, especially Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Lanterns(
their power is based on RAGE). The series is pretty good, I definitely recommend them.

I would like to pick up more current/single issue Brightest Day's but I have no idea where to begin, to keep things in chronological order, so for the most part I'm going to stick with the graphic novel releases. Except with Brightest Day Swampthing, I picked up the first issue of that the other day.

I'm also very intrigued by the FlashPoint line, I picked up an issue of the series called "experiment superman" or something like that. It appears Zoom is messing up the timeline of Barry Allen, and the Flash is in an alternate future where Bruce Wayne died as a kid/baby and his dad became Batman, and Superman crashed landed in Metropolis, and Star Labs has been keeping him prisoner since contact...the different timelines/story lines are very interesting reading. I would love to find more of the single issues, but am having a hard time finding them.
