The DC reboot -anyone picking up these titles?
I've always been a "Make Mine Marvel" kind of guy, but have been considering dipping my toe into DC waters with the reboot, but can't really afford to add more than one or two comics to my pull list. I've no interest in most of the DC superheros, such as Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, or Wonder Woman. I do like Batman and Green Arrow though. I'm considering a Batman title, probably Batman #1 from the descriptions of the various titles, and perhaps one other title. I've looked a bit at what they are doing with Stormwatch, and I am not sure I'm on board with merging the Wildstorm characters into DC, but I could be talked into checking it out. I'm somewhat intrigued by Men of War with the modernization of Sgt. Rock, as I really enjoy the original character.

So DC fans: which one would probably be best to start with? Batman or Batman: Dark Knight? Any thoughts on Stormwatch or Men of War? Anything I should check out that I didn't cover above?

1. I bought a few
Action, Justice League and Static Shock, I wanted Detective but it was gone already and I'll probably by a few more as they come out.

2. I picked up Men of War
being an old fan of Sergeant Rock. This series brings me back to the old war mags like GI Combat. I like it, and will probably continue with it (maybe we'll get some flashbacks to the first Sergeant Rock as well). Stormwatch was sold out, so I couldn't check it out. I bet there will be some second printings on the way, so I'm not too worried about missing anything.

3. I also picked up Batman #1 last week
actually, not that impressed by it. Don't think I'll be adding this one to the pull.

4. I got a good handful
I am getting:

Supergirl

Superboy

Superman

Action Comics:Superman

Batman

Batman in Detective Comics

Batman the Dark Knight

Justice League of America

So far the Batman titles are a lot better than the others, the JLA has promise, but it reads like rehash to me, same with the Superman titles....

5. My titles.
Action Comics

Animal Man (completely fucking amazing)

Batwing

Detective Comics

Green Arrow

Justice League International

OMAC (not really sold on this one)

Green Lantern

Green Lantern Corps

Green Lantern: New Guardians

Red Lanterns

Stormwatch (dropping this after two issues: sucks)

Swamp Thing

Batgirl

BatWoman

Demon Knights

Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E.

Resurrection Man

Suicide Squad

Superman

Batman

Batman: The Dark Knight

Birds of Prey

Catwoman

DC Universe Presents (Deadman is great)

I, Vampire

Justice League

Justice League Dark

Supergirl

Wonder Woman

All-Star Western (i.e. Jonah Hex)

Aquaman (surprisingly fantastic)

The Flash

This is after a comics history that wasn't much more than buying a few trades, some issues of Northlanders, and reading a friend's trades. The DC New 52 gave me a jumping-on point of which I took great advantage.

6. How are the Lantern
titles going? Are the stories good, I'm really interested in the Red Lantern ones. I've been thinking of picking up all the lantern titles, but I'm skeptical.

7. Red Lanterns is actually pretty solid.
The thematic core is revenge and retribution, and much of it is ruminations on the nature of justice by Red Lantern Atrocitus and his new protege Bleez. It (like the whole of the DC line, to be honest) is extremely violent but steers clear of revenge porn. I'd recommend it more than any of the other offshoot Lantern titles.

Green Lantern is trucking along very nicely with Sinestro as the new titular character. Still DC's flagship non-Bat title and getting better all the time.

Green Lantern: New Guardians is a pretty slapdash effort so far -- some good but lots of half-assed art and Kyle Rayner's mask is stupid looking. I love the multiple-color corps idea, so I'm still hanging on while it ramps up into something.

Green Lantern Corps is about the same; good enough to read but I'm still waiting for it to really grab me.
