1. The Ultimates is what sold me on the whole concept
At first, I really turned up my nose at the whole Ultimates concept, but then I read somewhere a very positive review of Millar's writing on The Ultimates, and since I never got into the Avengers, I didn't have as big a problem with the re-imagining of it. And I got sucked in. I really LOVE the Nick Fury character, too. So, now i go to bookstores and catch up on Ultimate X-men, which is ok, but doesn't touch The Ultimates. I also really like Ultimate Nightmare/Secret by Ellis, but I like just about everything Ellis does though.

I dunno, with The Ultimates, the characters seem more real than in the normal Marvel universe, I like them a lot more.
