What Comic Book Movie Do YOU Want To See?
If you could pick any comic book, which one would you want to be turned into a movie?

I'd love to see Killraven turned into a movie. Anyone else heard of Killraven?

1. Transmetropolitan
of course, we are talking faithing in spirit and tone to the source material movies.

Warren Ellis' lines are meant to be spoken.

2. Personally...
I think Transmet would make a better HBO series than a movie (but that's just me).

3. yeah, you're probably right about that.
It's actually hard for me to think of what might make a good stand-alone movie.

Marvels, maybe, if done right.

13. I thought "V For Vendetta" would make a good movie
then I got this in one of Warren Ellis' ramblings:

The press so far on V FOR VENDETTA keeps saying it's about Germany taking over Britain after WW2. I assumed it was a persistent mistake based off one erroneous press release everyone was quoting from. But apparently a German film group has put money into the film, which is reportedly to be shot in Berlin. Which kind of makes you wonder what happened to the central thrust of the book, which was that Britain itself turned to fascism post-WW3, that whole twisted little ballet of ethics and politics and personal choice.

I'm constantly fascinated at how Hollywood can always find the hook of an Alan Moore work and then toss only that hook away.

Hmmm.

35. I saw the movie...
it was good, but the graphic novel was much better. I'm a quasi-anarchist so it was very disappointing that the anarchism theme was dropped from the movie.

4. Killraven would be cool
But I'd love to see P. Craig Russell do the art direction. Can you imagine?

6. That would be great.
It would definatley be a unique looking movie.

Honestly, though not many people have heard of Killraven I think it'd be a perfect hollywood blockbuster movie.

Use the total digital CGI type setups like they did with Sky Captain so you can really make an astounding environment. Let Russell do the art direction.

A post-apocalyptic movie where humans are fighting martians.

I hate to do 'star' casting, but to truly make it a blockbuster you need a star. How bout Brad Pitt as Killraven?

11. We need more DC movies...
This new Superman movie will suck (they should just do a Smallville movie) but Batman begins looks good. What about Flash and Green Lantern, though? Or Wonder Woman?

In part, to watch the fundies squirm.

They're the reason why it will never be made.

Would love to see a Sandman treatment, as well.

16. Preacher.
But it will never happen.
Why? Because the Heartland probably wouldn't be able to handle a drunken Southern preacher who has supernatural powers that he uses to hunt God (who, incidentally, has decided to quit his job as the Almighty).

That being said, I'd settle for a kick-ass adaptation of "The Dark Knight Returns".

17. Actually, it's been optioned.
Project has been in development hell for quite a while.

They apparently got as far as character design. Here's a shot of the mask/makeup they came up with for Arseface.

18. Yeah. I've known about that for a while.
I doubt it'll ever happen...if it does, it's bound to be really watered-down. If I recall correctly, they were talking about casting Ben Affleck as Jesse Custer. Not very encouraging.

20. I have to say, seeing that image and reading about the premise
made me go pick up the first TPB collection of Preacher. Wow! How awesome. great characters. You gotta love the hard-drinking Irish Vampire who seems to have a streak of good samaritanism in him.
