Ultimate Avengers movie * may include spoilers*

I haven't watched this yet the DVD is sitting on my desk. I was wondering what your thoughts on it was. I know it's not "comic book cannon" from what I've heard about but that doesn't bother me as much as it does some people. So other than that what do you think of the DVD?

1. i saw it at fred meyer and picked it up

it's based on the initial run of Ultimates...
it's OK...the art is a little more generic that the comic books...Nick Fury just looks like a generic black man (unlike the comic book in which he looks just like Samual L. Jackson)
it is toned down by a bit...the hulk does not mass murder civilians and then eat the invading alien commander (burp)
it is kinda cool though...easily one of the best cartoons that marvel has put out to date...

2. I watched it today finally.

I actually got choked up with a few of the Captain America scenes, specially when he visits Arlingon cemetary. I agree with you that it's toned down alot more than the comic book. Probably for the general audience. I still like the Hulk Thor fight scene.

3. From what I can see....

It's a rehash of the original Avenger origin issue from 1963.....

BTW, when did Nick Fury morph into an African American....

4. it's actually a rehash of a rehash

becouse the ultimates is a re imagining of the Avengers and that is what this cartoon is based on...and in the re telling they morph some of our favorite characters into different "modern" versions...
