Saw my lawyer today,

and paid him additional amount, above retainer, because it appears there will be litigation. Lawyer VERY nice and competent and reasonably priced, imo, and he wants to be certain I'm aware of all the issues related to each decision I make.

SO the jerk ('stranged husband, who assaulted me 2+ years ago, causing me to leave the house, formerly family home) has failed to respond to lawyers letter seeking negotiating separation agreement and to my brother's attempts to discuss the matter. House recently sold, I'm entitled to proceeds, and would have agreed to a simple 50/50 split. Getting angry, which I think I'll overcome, but don't want him to avoid paying for my aggravation, so I think I will make case for alimony, pending litigation and forevermore.

Wanted to keep everyone here informed of the 'progress;' actually want to vent. Process will take longer than I have hoped, obviously. I'm just OK for cash with retirement payments and Soc Sec, but really do want to be able to enjoy life again, with things like concerts and travel, and new underwear!
