1. I'm looking forward to Eric Idle. I've always thought he was very funny.

But that "Trawler" guy was painful to listen to, and I think Jon Stewart felt the same way. And you can have the actors. What a waste. Give me an interesting political guest, anyday! Even a conservative one is better than these guests!:shrug:

2. I agree, I generally dislike the Hollywood project-floggers

But the Trawler guy, while painful to listen to, made me howl with the reactions he was getting from Jon. Sometimes the interviews are a case of Get the Guest (to use a reference from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"), but last night the game was definitely Hump the Host!

3. Yes, Jon was great with the "Trawler" guy. At least it wasn't boring,

As is usually the case with most actors. They have little to say, and you can see Jon making a real effort to get something of any interest out of them. There have been exceptions, like Alec Baldwin and Drew Barrymore, but that's because they also have a political agenda. That's the reason that people tune into this show, its irreverent take on politics, and to have a movie clip and a strained interview at the end of the show is just a letdown.:-(
