So said our Senate Leader, Harry Reid about the "asbestos reform" bill that the Republicans have proposed at the request of the industries responsible for all the ailments related to asbestos.

"Slander" cried Senator Arlen Spector, the bill's sponsor. Spector went on to say that his bill would ensure payments to victims unable to collect from bankrupt companies or forced to wait months to have cases heard in court.

Sure Arlen. Do you really expect us to believe that you're sticking up for the victims, when your party has a history of limiting awards to injury victims, and also limiting liability for large corporations? I mean that's all your party does, Senator. Do you really expect me to believe you? Do you believe yourself?

I seem to remember that one of the companies up to their corporate eardrums in asbestos suits was Dresser Industries which was acquired by Haliburton under Cheney's watch.

Anybody remember that?
