There's a story out today that shows that Arlen Specter has used earmarks to the tune of nearly $50 million to get Pentagon contracts to the clients of the husband of one of his top aides.

4. I think that's one of the most subversive comments I've read
on this forum. It makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?

5. I think that you are right.
I have a problem with that, though. If I knew that I was being spied on and "held captive" because of it...I'd rip the bullshit power from them and come clean on whatever it is that they've got. Americans are forgiving. No blackmail...no power.

Peace.

6. That's what You would do!
You are not a career politician, which is hte mistake we always make. These folks, who probably weren't really ever people "just like us", long ago stopped calculating in terms that we mere mortals relate to. There may be exceptions, but I wager you can count them on the fingers of your hands, taken from our entire Congress, who would opt to confess.

7. That's the sad part, IMO.
It's not SUPPOSED TO BE a career choice.
