Is hangul based upon or similar in structure to an ideographic script?
Perhaps you say, "yes, it's based upon an ideographic script if you trace things back far enough." However, it could be argued that the English alphabet is based on an ideographic script. For example, the letter "A" is an upside-down head of a creature that has horns.
