Question about having load-leveling rear air shocks converted over to conventional shocks
2000 Explorer with 100,000 miles. Had one of the air shocks go bad and they want almost $500 for a pair of them so my mechanic suggested just going to conventional shocks and forget the load-leveling feature. I told him that sounded good. Less than half the money to do that. Plus I figured about the time I get new air shocks replaced the compressor will go out and that will be another $500. And then the controller will fail. And on and on.

Beside having the CHK SUSP(check suspension) dash light staying on all the time are there any other changes in this vehicle I should be aware of or expect? Kind of imagine that the load and towing capacity will be diminished some, but I don't tow anything or carry any heavy loads anyway. Figure if I do put anything heavy into it I should try to keep it centered as possible.

Any other worries to think about after this conversion? Should it handle the same?
