6. Looks like a good idea.

My Caddy is stock, and it rolls and plows like mad. I want to make some mods to reduce body roll. Keeping the struts in place might be a good place to start. What other mods have you made to it?

9. Just for laughs, here's my '05 Prius' squirrel cage.

The gasoline engine (same as a Corolla's) is on the left, and the electric motor/generator is to the right. The all-important big battery resides in the back of the car. This is really all there is to see under the hood:

10. '05 Accord Hybrid

Under the hood of my wife's car, the view is a bit more impressive. It looks to me as though the "Integrated Motor Assist" (electric motor/generator) is seated atop the 3.0-liter engine, offering a total 255 horses, baby! It's a sweet machine, with the bonus of thirty or more miles per gallon.

12. 225HP in an Accord? That would make for a favorable pwr/weight ratio.

13. I had an '81, too. GREAT car.

I was all about hybrids, and eagerly pounced on the Prius when the chance came a year ago. My wife wanted a safe V-6 sedan, though, having lived through some scary traffic situations (she's commuted much longer than I have). She also wanted a stick shift, though, and you just can't find those under 40 grand. I talked her into a test drive of the Accord hybrid, and she was instantly sold. I was having such fun in the passenger seat that I didn't feel the need to drive it myself.

255 h.p. is a lot. I keep it in the 3-cylinder "eco" mode as much as possible, in order to squeeze more mpg out of it.

This car actually replaces one of the same model that was totaled by two semis out on I-20. My wife walked away from that without a scratch, and so getting a different car was not an issue. She's loyal now.

14. Just verified the mileage...

...on a trip to Virginia. A single tank each way (500+ miles), averaging 38 mpg. I'm a fan.

15. 89 Porsche 928 GT

5.0 liter doc fuel injected. 350 HP.

It doesn't get many miles on it. I just like to look at it. And it needs some work on the intake and valve cover cosmetics. But what a phenomenal ride. But it's stuffed in there with a shoehorn. You can't even get your hands in there. It's ugly. Unlike my 55 Chevy pickup where you can climb in the engine compartment and work. I like simplicity. But this thing rocks!

Plus, the engine is wild. It uses a huge web casting instead of individual main bearing caps. And the pistons are steel plated aluminum running in a nonsleeved aluminum block. Believe it or not.
