Nearly all of those questioned were dismissed. Many said they had heard about the 2005 slaying of Jessica Lunsford in Citrus County. Others had family or work conflicts.
So far only 14 jurors have made it past this initial qualifying phase. More will be questioned throughout the day.
A jury of 12 people plus six alternates is being sought to hear the case against John Couey. The case was moved from Citrus County to Miami because of heavy local media coverage.
