It's Not Looking Good for Husband of Slain Woman
Was very surprised to hear about this murder a couple days ago. It's surprising because the town of Boonton (about 20 miles northwest of me) is not exactly known as a hotspot of crime. Even more surprising was that police termed it a "targeted" murder. Furthermore, the couple was from out of town and were on an evening walk after having a dinner after Ramadan.

How often are young mothers shot while walking with their husband and child? The child is fine and the husband is in the hospital with injuries. But the lovely young mother is dead:

At one point she had texted relatives that if she died, her husband would be to blame.

Oh and yeah, the husband was having an affair.

And he claims he graduated honors at Columbia and is working on a Ph.D. from Harvard, but neither institution ever heard of him. Nor did Donald Trump's organization, where he claimed to have some type of deal going.

Heard this story before? Take a few bullets to deflect suspicion. Yeah, pretty familiar. Charles Stuart. And who was that lawyer who was a neighbor of Bill Clinton's up in Chappaqua?

What these guys never take into account is MMM. Especially the M for "motive." What's the motive to kill a young mother? Do young mothers usually get shot while out for a stroll?

There's some good coverage and photographs at the Star Ledger. If you view the photo galleries, they show the husband's father. I feel so sorry for him; he looks very confused. He was telling reporters about his son's academic pursuits. How sad that he will find out it is all a lie.

In addition, the NY Daily News has a story and also has around 65 comments, last I checked. Some of the comments are interesting, like one that noted the husband had written a book on Russian architecture. That intrigued me. Why would he be interested in Russian architecture (yes, I realize he has a career as a "builder"). So I checked out the book at Amazon and immediately noted the amateurish writing. Checked the copyright. Sure enough: self-published.

Bet Dateline or 48 Hours does a story on this crime.

2. yep, that's another one
Forgot about McDonald.

There's a story on it today at the WSJ. I would post the link, but when I went back to the story they gave me the pay screen. I think the first time you go to it you can get the full story.

Anyway, the story is worth reading as it tells in detail what everyone was doing right before the shooting.

www.wsj.com

It's on the front page.

Also, you do have to register to read the comments. Not worth it--only 5 comments.

4. this is going to be one for the books!
OK, it is Rupert Murdoch, but public records are involved, so I don't doubt this story:

I was so surprised! What a motive for killing your wife.

Incredible.

5. Wow, mind boggling!
If I read a novel with a bizarre plot like this, I'd probably toss the book aside, unable to suspend my disbelief enough to read it. This case epitomizes the phrase "stranger than fiction."
