HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Three months after an unknown gunman killed Dr. Gulam Moonda, only one part of the case seems clear-cut.

Moonda willed his wife, Donna, 46, the mansion and 20 percent of his assets. She has ready access to the house, which they shared during 14 years of marriage, but not to the cash.

Donna Moonda was with her husband the evening of May 13, when he was shot to death on the Ohio Turnpike. She initially gave vivid descriptions of the crime in media interviews, but stopped talking after she said the Ohio State Highway Patrol accused her of arranging her husband's murder.

The highway patrol initially said Moonda was killed by a thief in "a crime of opportunity." But within a week the patrol disclosed that Moonda's death also could have been a premeditated murder made to look like a robbery.

Look at the age disparity of the main characters. The wife is 23 years younger than her murdered husband and she is 20 years older than her boyfriend.


What do they all have in common? Money. I am looking forward to following this one.

3. Not yet, since the murder just happened in May. But there surely

will be one sometime. I hope Ann Rule writes it.

Maybe we should e-mail her an article or two about it.

I did that once with a murder that happened east of Pgh.(Kittanning maybe). I never heard back from her, but who knows, maybe she has it filed away for a future project.

I can't remember the names of the people now, but it was the one where the sister of the murder victim, and the victim's husband were having an affair. I think they torched the trailer where the couple lived. Then someone else involved with the family had a car bomb blow up their vehicle while they were driving down the road. It happened in 2004 or 2004.

6. That actually happened within five miles of where I live. It was a

I went to the IUP branch in Kittanning too many years ago :-).

Did you know the family? I really thought it would make a good story for Ann Rule.

8. No, I didn't know the family. But it sure was sad.

I went to main campus of IUP - WAY too many years ago! :D This would be great for Ann Rule, the problem with the younger sister would be a good hook for her to explore.
