KOEB Meeting 6/1/08 Puerto Rican Primary Edition
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 01:29 PM by BerryBush

Yes, I'm here, with that notorious tax scofflaw, Keith.

Jesus H. Christ on the Queen Mary, what won't they come up with next?

:hi: Anyone else here??

Oh, and in case you're wondering, here's the story:

http://gawker.com/tag/crime/?i=394304&t=keith-olbermann-on-the-run-from-the-tax-man

Now, so you don't all have to give Olbermann Watch any hits, let me tell you, I know EXACTLY how they figured this out, without even having to hit their site myself:

The other day, when the stupid Time magazine commentary that accused Keith of having become as bad as the right-wing gasbags was posted, deep amongst the comments some idiot posted a link to his asinine Web site, which he only WISHES were the equivalent of The Smoking Gun. That Web site posts links to publicly available info about celebrities. It highlighted a link that presumably would tell us that Keith OWES BACK TAXES TO NEW YORK STATE and it would also contain a complete list of PROPERTIES HE HAS SOLD.

I clicked on it. Yep, Keith owes a bit more than $2,000 to the state of New York, as of last year, for one of his business enterprises. Ohh, the pain! The shame! The outrage!...Yeah, right.

Second. The only other thing in the link is a long list of properties Keith has owned, mostly in NYC, but also including a house he lived in in LA during his Fox Sports stint and his house in Connecticut that he lived in during his ESPN years. The buyer is listed, the price, etc. Well, stalkers, there you have it. If you want a long list of places Keith Olbermann USED to live, and want to know how much Keith got for the properly when he sold it, there it is. Big whoop.

What I find interesting is that after this, the Keith-haters started posting comments to the HuffPo saying things like: "Keith owes the State of NY 20 grand." Interesting! Either you boys failed math and can't tell $2,000 from $20,000 (you sure must have fun balancing your checkbooks), or you are EXAGGERATING a bit. Which is it, pray tell?

1. OMG, they have declared Hillary the winner, bruited her name about as a VP candidate
and they have TERRY MCAULIFFE back on again, shooting his damn mouth off.

At what point do these people stop being a news network and start becoming enablers to the delusional?

I think they have passed that point.

No wonder none of the rest of you are here. You have no stomach for watching Hillary and her peeps try to milk what is bound to be a pathetic win for WAAAAAY beyond what it's worth in real life.

I may just shut it off too. I have no need to watch the Terry McAuliffe Show.

and 100% of Obama supporters won't vote for the other candidate in November. LOFL!

3. I got out yesterday, bought three books.
Tell you which ones in a sec.

Did Keith just crack you up or what: "This is MSNBC's continuing coverage of the 1964 National League pennant race and the 2008 Democratic Puerto Rican primary."

4. Keith teases Tweety about how he still bears the scars of the '64 Phillies
who needed to win only two games of their remaining 6 or so at the end of the season to win the pennant, and couldn't do it in time to not be beaten.

Of course, ONLY Keith would know this fact off the top of his head.

If he were cohosting with me, he'd probably say "Barack Obama has to be sure he's not like Berry's 2005 Cleveland Indians, who all but had the Central Division title in the bag, and then proceeded to lose enough games to give the whole thing up to the hapless Chicago White Sox, who ended up not only winning the division title but winning the Series."

Please, Keith. No more pain.

"Barack Obama's losing to a woman who's WIPING THE FLOOR WITH HIM OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!"

Thank God for Rachel.

"That was a damn powerful argument Terry McAuliffe was making."

Oh, PUHLEEZE.

Nora O'Donnell was pretty funny--she says everyone on the panel is punchy because they didn't get to have their usual Sunday-morning Bloody Marys today. (Yeah, she can talk, she couldn't have one anyway.) Keith jokes that he told everyone they should've been allowed to do the show from San Juan, where they could all have enjoyed drinks with little umbrellas in them. He also shows a shot of San Juan and says "There it is, San Juan," and everyone laughs.

Introduces Mayor McCheese: "I heard Tim's band was playing in the background." Asks him "What are the realities of this win for Terry McAuliffe today?"

He answers: "Have fun with the drinks and the canapes today, because on Tuesday IT'S OVER."

Keith: "Are you sure? You and I were both so much younger the last time we said it was 'over.'"

7. Damn, I have to make a small correction to my opening story.
The link to the "expose site" revealing Keith's back taxes and property transfers was posted to the comments of the Huffington Post's article on the Time magazine column about Keith. So this is all very "meta." The HuffPo piece was a comment on the Time piece, or a link to it, and it was in the comments to THAT that the link to the Web site divulging Keith's "terrible" secrets was buried.

So who cares what the people in Pueto Rico want? You should concern yourself with what the people in YOUR DISTRICT WANT. And your people want Obama, but do YOU care? Nooo...and now she's gonna whine about delegates in Michigan being taken away. She sides with Ickes...God help us.

You know, Stephanie, you seem to care a lot about people's votes counting...but ONLY if they vote for Hillary! You don't give a SHIT how people HERE voted! You don't CARE about your own CONSTITUENTS' votes!! :grr:

13. It would be nice if she worried about people who can
actually vote in the general election. PR means nothing in November.

How the fuck does Harold Ickes know how people in Michigan feel? Most of us are far happier with yesterday's compromise than we would have been had Hillary gotten all the delegates.

In the end, I think they did the right thing. It was a difficult situation, but the outcome was the right one in my opinion.

I'm so sick of this popular vote meme. It means nothing. We nominate based on delegates. Yes, it might be a flawed process, but it's the one we use, so STFU up already, Hillary.

It's tomorrow night at 8. It's going to be a very up and down kind of day -- the high being seeing Obama and the downer being the memorial service. At least I took the day off work and have some down time between the town hall and the evening. It gives me time to pack, since my friend is picking me up to go to Cleveland at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Not that there's much packing to do for an overnight trip. Most of what I have to pack I can't do until the morning anyway -- makeup, toiletries, etc.

56. Don't feel bad I missed Sunday Keith!!
Had way to much to do since Friday I found out that Tuesday I will be getting out patient surgery. Tomorrow I get blood test and EKG, then Tues then a take it easy for a few weeks so I had to get everything done around here that I normally do during the week plus the last few flowers planted that arrived. Will be finishing up tomorrow (the ferrets are caged tonight poor things) so I can semi take it easy for a few days. Hoping the zoo crew cooperates for a few days. Plus have a drip systems to get installed in the veggie garden tomorrow. A whole weeks worth of cleaning sucks up a day and I swear men are useless under pressure.
Still MIA and most likely will be for a bit more-Ferrettessa
