Wonder if the difference in light is how far north one is? I don't think Miami is west of here. The west side on my house is almost unobstructed here so maybe I just get the sun a little longer. :shrug:

Yes, it does have to do with how much farther north one is, which is why it should have been lighter here. I remember it getting dark about 4:30 in the winter in DC, so it seems odd that it would be lighter up there, which I why I wrote it off to the powerful lights on the Plaza. It was easier than thinking about it too hard.

I have no clue on why it seems light and darker around here. The last couple days there is still a bit of blue in the sky around 9:30pm here. Maybe it is opposite in the summer. I mean Alaska does get to where the sun never goes below 20 degrees this time of year.

100. Gambit went to be with the rest of

the KOEB heaven crew yesterday morning. He did get to come home, found the energy to play with the other ferrets for about 15 minutes then slept, ate, slept and ate some more and died peaceful in his sleep on my chest in the early hours. At least he didn't suffer. The vet and Claudia swear he wasn't in pain, just tired and weak. They think he probably had bone marrow cancer and wasn't making any red blood cells. Now fighting to get Lil-bear back into shape since he stressed himself into an ulcer. Looks like that is cleared up just trying to get his appetite and strength back up. I was really worried about him last night and was happily surprised he was still here this morning. He must be feeling some better as I can't find him to feed him duck soup.

I am looking at Gambit as I know he had just over a year of a great life and was happy. Just his dooking let me know how happy he was. He was at least 9 years old (way old for a ferret) and who knows what his life was like in the 3 homes before here were like. I gave him a bit of freedom, ferret siblings to beat up on and as much love as I could. As for Lil-bear not sure if he caught a bug that might of weakened him enough that the stress of the week left him open to an ulcer or if it is just him getting old. All my ferrets are considered elderly now.:cry: Good in that they lived long lives but bad in that they are near the end of the same long lives.


Edited to add- well 12 ccs of fluid down his throat and poof he has ran and hid again.

physically. Crossing my fingers that I get to be one of the lucky ones that ablation works 100% for. Talking myself into doing ok emotionally on the ferrets. But I still never see me going ferretless, they more than make up for the loss and brief life span in love and laughter while here.
