Lauren Bacall: honorary EDV.
I'm a big Barack person. What I find really hard to take is the way the media behave. ... They seem to pick on Barack much more readily than they do on McCain. They suddenly say he's this kind of politician, he's not what we thought, dah-dah-dah-dah. ... I don't understand why these anchors say, "We're not supposed to take a side, we're supposed to just give the news," but they don't just give the news, and they don't tell the truth, excuse me. I only listen to Keith Olbermann. To hell with the rest of them. I'm an MSNBC type now.

7. Damn you, bleev! Damn you!!
You BLEW MY COVER!!!!

:grr: And things were going so well for YEARS! No one knew! Then I agreed to meet with Bot and Steph, but they swore to secrecy! And with Sharon too, but she was also sworn to secrecy! The story was that I was just a humble Countdown fan from Cleveland! Now it's ruined--all ruined!!!!

...OK.

But...LOL.

To think Keith was worried that his female fans look like Leona Helmsley.

Guess not.

I too would be happy to welcome Ms. Bacall to the EDV Sisterhood.

Come on in, the company's fine. Just make sure to post lots of floaties, especially after Special Comments and whenever we get KOOS.

8. I will forever loathe Juliette Binoche
for ROBBING Lauren Bacall of the Supporting Actress Oscar! :grr:

Welcome to the club, Ms. Bacall! If you want to get the bartender's attention, pucker up & blow!

9. What bugs me about that particular situation
is that in that particular year, the Academy threw just about every award at The English Patient that it possibly could, including Best Picture, except for one: Best Actor.

It's as if they were telling Ralph Fiennes, "Well, everything else about the movie was perfect, but you personally sucked."

It just makes no sense--but then, Academy Awards seldom do.

10. Well, if it's any consolation
I think the English Patient sucked. I saw the previews & was not impressed. I later was forced to watch the whole movie & that initial opinion was confirmed.

11. Not really.
You've just denigrated one of my favorite movies of all time. One I went to see the premiere of in Toronto before it was even released. So I was a fan before all the hype, not to mention before all the backlash.

Oh well, guess it's just one of those things we have to agree to disagree on.

13. I despised that movie. Had I been alone, I'd have walked out...
But I wasn't, so I couldn't, and thus suffered most grievously...

14. I think of not seeing it as a badge of honor.
One I'm proud to wear -- right next to my "I'm the person who never saw Titanic" badge of honor. :)

15. I know what you mean!! I was roped into going-- otherwise I never
would have. It was the longest, most boring movie I'd ever seen...

16. And then you have me, who loved it, one of my favorite movies,
never could understand why there was such a backlash against it as being too long and boring, because I saw it before most people did and never find it long and boring at all...in fact, I was amazed at how great a job the screenwriter did of condensing the book and making it work, when I wouldn't have even known where to begin.

But I, too, never had a desire to see Titanic. Just didn't care. Go figure.

Yet another example of "Trying to Discern a Pattern in People's Tastes and Divine Their Intelligence Level Based on the Movies They Like" just. doesn't. ever. work.

17. I could just be in the minority-- I enjoy very few movies anymore
Unless they're older films. Obviously lots of people enjoyed it or it
wouldn't have swept the Academy Awards.

Minghella directed one of my favorite movies, "Truly, Madly, Deeply"

Go figure!!
