I need some advice folks, must make some major life style

changes. My husband died June 27th and I am faced with the huge job of putting affairs in order. We don't have much but what we had was important to us.

I can't justify spending money on extended Cable TV but my husband was a fan of lots of the offerings so we subscribed. We have the advanced cable TV offering from Comcast with internet service for which we pay $93.00 a month. I will need to go back to basic at about $10.00 monthly for the Cable portion. I think they will raise my rate on Internet to make up for the lost dollars from a drop in service level. I believe the combined is $55.00 per month.

Does Countdown broadcast over the Internet? I am told the word for what I mean is "stream". Not only will I not be able to keep the expanded cable but I know the rate will be going up as the switch to digital happens. I have been sent a converter box free for a year so that we can get digital reception. I can get MSNBC if I keep the extended basic but if I drop to basic, I loose MSNBC on July 15th because many channels are being switched then. The only thing I would miss is Countdown. The rest is just fluff.

I wish this didn't have to happen but life seems to get a little rough along the way, and now it is the roughest it will ever be for my family.

I do know that there are video clips on the Countdown website. And when one of our group was away from home, she mentioned that she could watch the show live on the website, too.

Go to msnbc.com/countdown and you should find what you're looking for.

I am sorry about your husband, and certainly understand your situation.

As the Rev said, it is possible to watch all of Countdown online, even if you can't download it--but it's not quite so that you can watch it live (unless it's some special occasion). You can, however, watch it after the fact. Each of the "top 5 stories," along with segments like "Bushed!," "Oddball" and "Best Persons" is posted on the MSNBC site for Countdown not long after the live show airs. The only things you will miss are Keith's little teasing segues into the various stories and his "on this day in..." introduction to Oddball. Otherwise you can catch it all. Just wait an hour or so after the livecast and it should be up.
