I have a dentist appointment at 4:00 for the first phase of replacing a cap I cracked last week. I told him I'll need gas, though, because there will be drilling involved to get the old one off.

I hate going to the dentist. Last week he did a temporary filling in to get me through the week and that was bad enough. Now he has to take off the old crown, do a mold for the new one and put on a temporary. I'll have the permanent one in a couple of weeks. I've had the crown since I was 12 or 14 or so, so it's lasted a long time. I'm sure the new one will look a lot better.

they have to throw tons of blankets on me, because I get really cold. :scared:

The worst reaction I had was one time when I started shivering so badly, the dental assistant had to put the blanket on me, then lay on top of me, to try and get me warm again.

Gas doesn't make me cold, but what it DOES do is make me feel as if anyone could do anything to me and it would be just absolutely fine. Which is scary when you think about it in retrospect. Makes you understand why there are those horror stories of dentists using it to rape patients.

Male gynecologists do it too. Not only does it make their patients safer, it makes it harder for any patient to accuse them of anything, so it's for their protection as well.

I'm starting to have misgivings. Not just that she'll survive and thus benefit from the soft bigotry of low expectations, but that something really crazy will happen.

Like...unprovoked by Joe Biden or anyone else's behavior, but simply because of the burden she's carrying or has placed upon herself or has allowed to be placed upon herself...she will break down crying and leave the stage.

Imagine what would happen then.

The Repigs would cry "shame, shame on all of you for expecting too much of her." The Dems would say "Too effing bad if she can't take it. There's no crying in running for VP."

But it would still be a media frenzy and there would still be an opportunity to "tsk tsk" us.
