I may not be able to watch the debate tonight
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 03:29 PM by bunny planet
I wish I could be with all of you in the clubhouse.

I've got two kitties gravely ill now and they'll both be getting acupuncture tonight. Cancer for Dusty Springfield, Hepatic Lipidosis (again) for Cookie Feigenblatt,. CF got freaked out by Dusty's unusual aggressiveness and just stopped eating, which kicked in the liver disorder. So, she is very ill, and getting intravenous feedings the past three days at the vets office, hopefully won't need an operation for a feeding tube (had the same problem 5 years ago and I fed her through a tube in her neck for 4 months)

Just wanted to register my official theory, I've run this past some of you before, told Sha-sha over the phone

I think the Rove, Kristol, conservative plan is, since they know he is clobbering Grandpa anyway, to let Obama win, and then leave him holding such a steaming pile of crap left on the way out the door, he has no chance of investigating their past criminal behavior, no chance of implementing any of the progressive programs he's planned, no chance of doing much of anything. In other words, they will hobble an Obama administration, blame them for everything that results, and then come roaring back in two years in the Congress, and four years to the executive office (or G_d forbid impeach him at the slightest provocation). Just a theory, but it seems as if the McCain campaign has been deliberately sabotaged from within (and by advisors), by letting McCain be McCain and letting Palin be Palin. We all know KKKarl has disdain for the Christian Right that he uses to suit his needs, we all know he has disdain for McCain from the 2000 primaries. McCain is just stupid and obsessed enough with the Presidency that he thought if he threw in with his enemies, Rove, and the Falwellians (Dobsonians whatever) he'd use them to gain the coveted spot. He's the last to know they've decided to let him turn himself into a national joke, lose, and they'll sit this one out. After all, they've been stealing for the past eight years, they've just stolen more and gotten away with it, covered their corporate overlords asses, they've got no reason to be in the Presidency right now, they'd be presiding over a country that's a shadow of its former self, and the only thing to do this time around would be to actually implement programs to help,......gulp.... actual people, not the 'haves and have mores'. Why would they let McCain become President and have a Republican left to clean up the mess and be blamed. I hate it, but I think I'm right. This doesn't mean of course, that I still don't want Obama to become President, regardless of what we inherit with that win. I do, I just hope we can really win big in Congress too, like veto proof wins and then hold our representatives feet to the fire constantly to make sure they undo all the crap they can and try to put us back on the right path as soon as possible.

The Christian right is just focused on getting McCain in to put SP in the catbird seat. When she doesn't know any other Supreme Court cases to site, she is really just telegraphing her base about the only Supreme Court case that matters to them, Roe vs.Wade. She must know about Exxon vs. Baker, it happened, as Keef so beautifully pointed out last night, in ALASKA. I think her silences speak volumes, and are deliberate, even the not reading the newspaper one. She is appealing to the freeper mentality after all, they revile educated people, world travelers, anything that makes them feel inferior. She appeals to that mentality, on purpose. If McCain does manage to win, (stealing votes, disenfranchising voters, altering poll numbers) the Fundaholics will be licking their chops to get her in his place as soon as they can. I don't think they can pull the 'voters with values' turned the tide at the last minute thing like they did in 2004, but who knows.

Anyway, I've ranted on long enough.

1. I'm sorry to hear about the kitties.
Sending prayers your way that they get healthy for you.

As far as your guess. Wouldn't surprise me if they did do all that. Thing is we had all smart people run for our side and since Obama is smart odds are he will throw a big wrench into their plans. I think they really wanted Hillary so they could confuse the Clinton's in the masses brains. Then it is our job to point out and keep pointing out that it was the repugs that caused all these problems and it is taking another Democrat to fix them AGAIN. Repeat it enough from enough people and it eventually filters through to some of the dense brains out there.

2. Absolutely CC, I agree.
I think Obama is so smart, he's anticipated their dastardly moves already and has a real chance of surprising them with what he can still accomplish for the good, once elected.

3. So sorry about the kitties, Bunny,
I'm off to a watching party in a few minutes at a different location than last time, so I don't know if there's wireless. It's at an Obama office, so there probably is, but I'm not taking my lappy toppy. I'm all numb from the dentist and am just going to take it easy there. I hope it wears off soon -- I'm hungry!

I'll see whoever is still around when I get home later.

Enjoy!

4. Thanks Sha-sha.
I've been wanting to give you a call this week but have been a bit overwhelmed. Turns out one cat is doing better tonight so I'll watch the debate. Might not check in until afterwards. Have fun at the debate party. We're playing Palin bingo tonight at home. Plus I gave a bunch of newly registered 18 year olds their own Palin Bingo cards to play along with their families. I also told them about the rape kits, and the anti-woman stance and policies of SP.

6. Hope you can watch, Bun-Bun.
I'm so sorry about your poor kitties. I hope they both turn out all right.

As for your election theory, I find it too depressing to even contemplate...even though you may well be right.

8. Thanks Wolvie
Cookie Feigenblatt is actually getting better. She started eating on her own so we might not have to do the feeding tube. Also, Dusty Springfield is doing pretty well right now too, so we are hopeful we can have her with us a while longer. Thanks for all your good wishes and of course

 right back at you (I'm not going to say atcha, too folksy and Palinish)
