No one warned me after surgery would hurt as much as breaking the feet to start with. Keeping the foot (left) with the 2 pins and 3 screws up so the swelling goes down sooner or later and trying to be half as brave as a little girl was this summer. Failing at it a bit too. So remind myself how much worse the doc said it usually is and that with time this too will pass. Might get stitches out Monday, hopefully. The keeping the foot up means sitting at the computer sideways. :hi:

101. Believe me, I have nothing but sympathy for ya.

My mom broke her ankle in three places, and had two very large screws inserted for several months. It never did heal properly for her, and years later, it would still swell horribly. If you can get therapy when you're ready, please do so... you may save yourself some horrible pain in the future.

Least that is what I am being told. Doc said a year to completely heal but doing everything he says. Did have pain meds but they are all gone. sigh I was also told.warned my foot will never be like it was before the break. At least the doc is honest and doesn't try to sugar coat things. My own fault so no sense in getting to down or frustrated.

If you must break bones do it when young according to my doc. upside, he was Navy trained and well used to "impact injuries" to feet, ankles and knees because of the paratroopers. I am told repeatedly how lucky it was just my feet.
