They should have built it long ago!

I mean, first the Indians christen it in the first official game by spanking the Yankees 10-2, including a grand slam by the guy all the ladies in Cleveland love, Grady Sizemore (how can you lose 'em with a name like Sizemore?). Then, well, they lost yesterday, but what's the score now? 21-4?

And I know Keith is there from reading The Baseball Nerd (and where else would he be?). Sorry, Keith. Real sorry...

...Bwahahahahaha.

And to think they were afraid that the construction crew buried Red Sox memorabilia in the foundation to curse it...

2. 14 runs in the second inning. I mean, FOURTEEN RUNS IN THE SECOND INNING, people.
It was just too high-larious.

Sadly, the magic did not continue into today, so we split the stand. But honest to Jaysus, did you SEE that fan swipe away the ball? That was the worst call ever in baseball, not to call fan interference on that one! Those guys made Jeffrey Maier look like a piker!

I hope Keith admits on his blog (because he probably watched every replay known to mankind) that that was a BAD call. No, it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the runs the Evil Empire scored, but it did turn the mood of the game. Feh.

3. Yankees
Laugh away non-believers, but it's hard to get around the number 26 (total world championships). Unless the Cardinals win for the next 17 straight years, I will not live to see the day when the Yankees are dethroned from that one. With that kind of good karma at our back, we can afford to take the long view.

5. Aw, didya have to say that?
They're always bragging about the number of championships they won, as if that's the be-all and end-all of everything. It's the one thing they have now on the Red Sox fans and it's as annoying as hell.

I will repeat what Rick Reilly said: Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Brad Pitt to get laid. Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Bill Gates to win the lottery.
