16. Nah, I did a bit more shopping tonight and it took me WAY longer than anticipated.

Anyway, I finally made it and I am delighted because Keith is rockin' a brand-new black three-piece suit! Guess the suspenders weren't cutting it anymore and someone gave him good advice about how it was time to hide the paunch. Two thumbs way up!!

20. Wayyyyyy too expensive!

It takes two people to clip the claws and put the softpaws on. If I go to the vet, it's $40 for something that lasts 2 months, tops.
Even getting him to the vet is a serious challenge because he goes into a panic.
There's gotta be a spray or something I can use.

25. It's true, it takes two hands to handle a Whopper.

But I was able to get them on Bella with help from a sis. As for Harley, she even has one still sticking to a rear claw (we experimented) that actually fit. No need to go to the vet.

And Harley does not want me near her claws, either. She was, however, able to calm down when I wrapped her in a towel (most of her, anyway) and let my sis try. She clipped her close enough that she hasn't scratched either.

I have yet to find ANYTHING else, short of declawing (which I will not do on principle) or killing the cat (ditto), which will make a cat obediently avoid shredding furniture. It doesn't matter how you deter them or what alternatives you provide. They just don't care. I think the best solution is to let them keep the claws, but render them harmless.

I can't tell you what a joy it is to see Bella decide to try to take a scratch on something and then see her stop, because she realizes it just ain't workin'.

18. Good idea!

My sheets are in shreds, and the sofa arms (on both of them!) are scraggly and getting worse.
They have a scratching post, and a large cat tree - which is right next to the sofa!

Other than that, we're good! Hope you are enjoying spring with a minimum of pollen.

21. Call me. I think Soft Paws really are the solution.

They make it so the cat CAN'T scratch, yet they don't remove any body parts. Anyway, Bella has 'em on and so far, not a scratch on my new furniture. I'd put 'em on Harley too, but I think I need to order another size--neither Small nor Large fits--I think she needs Medium.
