It's probably a good idea for her to take some time out and "build the brand," so to speak. Right now she still doesn't have a big name outside Michigan, and doing more national TV will help, as will a book. I think the disadvantage she had was that while she was lucky enough to be around when the whole Randi flap happened, she hadn't yet built up an image and reputation that could carry a national show the same way other media figures do (for good or bad--I mean, some of them develop an image and build a following very quickly just by being outrageous asshats, which is very easy--it's a lot harder to do it as a thoughtful person with a message).
I think it comes down to what Keith said: you can't be just another voice, you have to bring something to the table that is identified as being uniquely yours. Some people will hate it, but others will love it. Nancy's still working on that. I wish her much success, because the seed is there--it just needs to blossom.
