They just rebuilt that bridge last year and will now have to do it all over again. It's only a few miles from me, but in a direction I don't have to go very often.

Good thing you have an alternate route. As for building the bridge again, I hope they have the stimulus money to do it, and to get it right so things like that won't happen. That's what DC is doing to the 14th Street Bridge, which is the main route into downtown from Virginia, and it's gonna take the next 2 years to repave and repair everything. So while the traffic will be slow the end result will be worth it when they're finished.

It wasn't that they did a bad job last time. The heat from the tanker explosion melted the bridge. I assume the freeway will at least partially open once they clear the debris away.
