2. Hi ralps!
:hi: That kitty is adorable!

I would've liked to see Obama today, but didn't get a ticket in the lottery. Oh well.

3. I replaced the pic with something that hasn't been used lately
and is quite funny...I think.

5. Me too, that's why I titled this the way I did.
:hi: Hi bleev!

Unfortunately, I am peeved at Harry Reid and even Obama now...looks as if health care is going to be subject to "the fierce urgency of after vacation." :grr:

9. I don't think I can stand any more coverage of Rushbo and his issues
so I'm just trying to ignore it.

10. Who is this guy on with Schuster right now?
I can't tell if he's supporting or not supporting Liz Cheney.

My brain hurts.

11. Wow, I think that was the most contentious I've ever seen things on Countdown get.
I think the problem here is that the guest is trying to score points by saying that Liz Cheney gets away with her crap because the MSM in general allow her to--they ask her on their shows to spew her blather. That's pissing off Shuster because Countdown is not one of those shows that allows her to do this and he's getting ticked off that it's being tarred with the same brush.

12. David also got pissed because the guest thinks the Whitewater stuff was equally baseless
and is saying it's the same thing, and that's making Shuster rise to the bait and say no, it wasn't--at least there was some fire behind that smoke, if not the same kind of fire the Republicans said there was. Of course he's going to say that because back in those days he was on Fox News playing watchdog on the Clintons the way he felt a journalist should be. It was when Bush came in that Shuster no longer felt comfortable at Fox News because they no longer wanted to take a watchdog, adversarial approach to reporting on the White House. Now that a Republican was in all they wanted was fawning and obsequiousness. This is what caused Shuster to leave Fox News for MSNBC.

When this guy equates the birther nonsense to anything and everything said against the Clintons and calls it all "nonsense," that's bound to get David's knickers in a knot, because it's like accusing him of having riled up people over nothing back in those days. And when he essentially tosses in Countdown with Morning Joe and implies that all of MSNBC is equally guilty of giving Liz Cheney a forum because they're part of the big bad MSM...of course he will be pissed.

This guy has the right to rail against the MSM if he wants, but he won't find himself awfully welcome if he's going to attack them when they have him on their shows. He's going to end up talking to Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! and no one will see him except on "the Internets."

13. Thanks Berry. That's what I was thinking too, but as I said, it was
rather confusing.

And yes, it was quite contentious for Countdown.

14. Of course, GD thinks Shuster got schooled and made to look like a pipsqueak.
I don't, entirely. (I'm still pissed at him for the rotten job he did last week arguing against that freeper whom he allowed to outshout him about the things they said about Malia Obama being "ghetto trash" because she wore a peace-sign shirt.) He's right when he says someone like Liz Cheney should not even be allowed a forum on the MSM anymore because she has nothing factual to say, but he makes a mistake when he thinks you can go ON the MSM and then INSULT the MSM. That's the problem a lot of lefties make: they try and try and try for the big exposure they can get by going on the MSM and then they "bite the hand," so to speak, by spending all their time talking about how eeevul the MSM are for having wingnut guests on to spew crap. Well, if that's the first thing you say, yeah, you ARE going to get your host angry and yeah, the show is going to be sorry they asked you on. There is a gentler way of getting the point across: first, you say the wingnuts are full of it, THEN you say that when a given wingnut has proven to have nothing useful to add to the discussion, it's time for the MSM to stop giving that nut a forum. You don't start out in your first breath castigating the very MSM who give you a forum. All that will score you points with is the aging ex-hippies on GD who have spent their entire lives respecting nothing other than "people who stick it to The Man." *sigh*
