A bit of good news: When I got home last night, Keith met me at the top of the stairs, then led me to the loft where I could find Oreo. Once she came down, she nuzzled me, then Keith walked up beside her and started to snuggle with her!

I couldn't make it tonight because I went to Marcia Fudge's State of the District forum tonight. It was a joy! Such a multicultural mix of people, almost all of them ready and willing to listen to her speak on all subjects, including health care--and back her up.

The teabaggers were not permitted to carry their signs inside so many of them stayed out. A bunch of them got right in the middle of the room, though. The second they tried to shout and disrupt they were told that if they could not be polite and civil and save their questions for the end, they would have to leave. The news tells us two were removed. Everyone else settled down and listened. Some of them still got their say at the end, but they were not allowed to take control.

Marcia was cool and calm throughout and had answers for everything--even answering the attempted disruption. You would think she'd been doing this for years rather than thrown more or less into the job only about a year ago after Stephanie Tubbs Jones' death. And the cops and security guys were smooth and professional and didn't let anybody raise any shit.

When I left I could see the teabaggers still left around had retreated across the street with their big sign of Obama's face with the Hitler mustache. Cowards.

Really, the whole night was just a joy. The best part was when Marcia was talking about her support of Head Start. She said she supports it because by the time they start going to school kids should know their numbers and letters and colors--and a little kid yelled out, "I DO!" Got a standing ovation!

Now THAT's the kind of interruption we should hear more of at these events!

15. I was up there yesterday.

I saw about eight deer in the fields, several Canada geese, and a grey cat, but no C.C.
I think it was too chilly to roam. :(
But, on the upside, there have been a few more sightings, but nobody can get near to him. Why don't these people realize that you cannot chase a cat??
