Observe the number of hard-and-fast, stubbornly cemented opinions about this couple and their belief that what happened to them was the "worst news," not to mention the assumptions about the couple's attitude toward parenting and the child to which they are about to give birth, that were made by people who had not even read the whole article about them--just the part the OP posted (and the OP jumped to conclusions a bit too).

"Emily Litella syndrome" is annoying. Even I misread some of this, but at least I came back and acknowledged it.

Really, these poor people didn't deserve the namecalling they got from DU. It was more worthy of a freeper convention.
