police officer was murdered in a drive-by while he was sitting in his patrol car with a rookie he was training. They caught THAT guy the day of the officer's funeral.

The asshole who shot the 4 officers yesterday is still at large. x(

were still plenty of us there. My great niece, who is 5 this week, got me making up songs and stories (she did some too), and whichever one of us was listening to the other telling the story, we had to act the story out. It was hysterical.

Then, just before we sat down for dinner, she announced to everyone that THIS CHAIR, right next to where she was going to sit, was Aunt SeattleGirl's chair, and NO ONE ELSE could sit there but me! :rofl:

Nah, not really. I'm still recovering from my illness is all. Slowly but surely winning the war against the bacterial infection that hit me just as I was starting to recover from the viral one. Thank God for free antibiotics at the supermarket. Yeah, I know there's a risk doctors will prescribe 'em on demand to patients they'll do no good for and that can ruin their effectiveness for all of us, but the solution there is easy: don't prescribe 'em on demand. And yeah, I know the stores just offer them so they can make back the money as we spend it on groceries while waiting for the scrip. But it's still free drugs and I ain't gonna complain.

Very happy Keith is Special Commenting, but will have to bounce softly. :bounce: And my floaties will have to gently bob. :loveya:

I'm just kinda feeling like a big mashed-up bag of Berry tonight. I wish I could just start taking antibiotics and clear up immediately like in the old days. But I fear the overprescription of antibiotics by doctors trying to get ignorant patients/parents off their backs ("I don't care if it's a viral infection, you GOTTA give me SOMETHING") has spoiled the party for all of us. Time was I could just start taking the stuff and bam, I felt better. Now, it's a slow recovery.

Antibiotics have become the favorite placebo of virally infected people who demand a prescription to make it go away. As a result, we all suffer when the bacterial stuff really happens and we need them.

Even so, I'm not against the store programs. But think of how many people they'd help if they offered free blood pressure medication too.
