Doesn't * have enough to screw up without giving his .02 on Palmiero?
And, really, wouldn't it be fun to see him literally muzzled by a special prosecutor? :)

As if the President doesn't have enough going on, he's weighed in on a steroid-suspended baseball buddy...
Little more than an hour after word of Rafael Palmeiro's suspension for violating Major League Baseball's steroid policy, President Bush defended the former Texas Ranger. "He's a friend," the president said in a White House roundtable interview with several Texas reporters. "He's testified in public, and I believe him."
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/washington/stories/080205dnspobushpalmeiro.300f6095.htmlPresident Bush, saying he is temporarily muzzled by a special prosecutor, declined Monday to say how or when he found out that top aide Karl Rove had talked with a reporter about a CIA operative's identity. And, while indicating that all he knows is what he has read in newspapers, Bush gave Rove a ringing endorsement. "Karl's got my complete confidence. He's a valuable member of my team," Bush said, adding that internal fact-finding has been hampered by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald's request that the White House not discuss the inquiry.

In today's special 2nd Congressional District race between Republican Jean Schmidt and Democrat Paul Hackett, the victor will replace former U.S. Rep. Rob Portman, R-Terrace Park. Hackett, an Indian Hill lawyer and Marine Corps reservist who returned from a tour of duty in Iraq in March, has dismissed Schmidt as a "rubber stamp for failed policies" in Washington and Columbus.

In her first interview since splitting with Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston says she was "shocked" by the breakup and is trying to "pick up the pieces in the midst of this media circus." "Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I've thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I'm also doing really well."

Finally,
Minutes after pleading guilty to a gang-related stabbing death, Joshua Martin Miracle got married in the same courtroom. Miracle, 26, who faces death or life in prison without parole for killing Elias Raymond Silva, 30, on Oct. 3, exchanged wedding vows with longtime girlfriend Christina Beltran, 21, during a brief ceremony performed by retired Superior Court Judge William Gordon. The groom, handcuffed and wearing an orange jail jumpsuit, managed to steal a kiss before bailiffs took him back to County Jail.
