Looking at that birth certificate, I've seen one almost exactly like that one -- mine! I requested a copy of mine from the State of Washington, and I got one like what Hawaii issued for proof that Barack was born there.

To all those who demand the "long form" birth certificate (whatever the freak that is), I would ask that they produce theirs too. Bet they can't!

They're supposed to be more "authentic" because they're signed by a doctor. But in most states, they're not valid anymore--which I should know, because I tried to use mine to renew my (New Jersey) driver's license four years ago. I had to get the computerized version.

I went to Art Basel today, and one of the galleries in the front had a big version of Robert Indiana's "Hope" sculpture. That was cool.

I spoke with her today on Facebook. She asked if I would go to the booth tomorrow (they're at a different fair), pretending to be a rich collector from Copenhagen, and ask to see her work. When they tell me they don't have any with them, I go on to have a litte snit and leave in a huff. :)

p.s. Another gallery booth had five really, really large photos of the inauguration, and Shepard Fairey has a show at another gallery downtown this weekend.
