Hi everyone!

I've been absent because during the weekend, my dad took a severe downhill turn, and the nurses thought he was knocking at death's door. But since yesterday, he was doing MUCH better, and has some very good moments. Nevertheless, I called my brother last Saturday and told him they were suggesting that he might want to come and visit NOW... SO, John, Christian, and Sarah flew here for the week.

Like I said, Dad's doing much better. I think he perked up when he heard John was coming. But he has gone downhill quite a bit since last summer. I spend most evenings over there, feeding him supper. I think my brother was a bit shocked when he saw him, and realized that Dad didn't really know who he was. (he said "is he one of my kids?"). At least now my brother knows why I didn't want to go to PA this Christmas.

Tonight, we gathered at the motel and watched Wisconsin beat Miami (sorry, Pats!). In our conversation about various crazy people, my nephew agreed that Rush is an idiot (!), and, surprisingly, he said "Even my MOM agrees that Glen Beck is nuts, and won't watch him." :wow:

I suspect that my family is more of the moderate Repuke persuasion than they want to admit. This is indeed the best Christmas present I could ask for! :)


I'll be checking in from time to time. In the meanwhile, have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve, and celebrate my 48th birthday with me on New Year's Day! :party:

I'm so glad to hear your dad is doing okay. I know it's hard for him and for you with the way things have been lately, but know that there's only One who has the last word. In the meanwhile continue to love your dad for I'm sure he means the world to you. My dad passed away this month almost 15 years ago, so I know what you're dealing with.

I've been watching the Weather Channel, and you're in the deep freeze worse than me, so stay warm!!! :scared: :scared: :scared:
