Well, folks, I'm back from NYC and just about everything that could go
catawampus, did. I'm too tired to list everything but it would've been worse if not for my sister and the excellent staff of the Lucerne hotel. Crispini and I missed each other, unfortunately. Suffice it to say, next time, I go first class all the way! In the biggest damned jet they got!
And I never want to see the Raleigh-Durham airport ever again! :nuke:

1. aw, Gogi, I'm sorry it was one of those "special" trips.
I'm glad you got home safe, though. My best friend's heading out for NYC tomorrow, to see "Spamalot" and catch some baseball and who knows what else. It's funny; the guy she's travelling with doesn't want to take the subway while they're there because NYC "isn't safe". As if Houston is safe. :eyes:

3. Could'nt get my sis to go on the subway, barely got her to try
the bus! When she did, she loved it. Too bad it was the next to the last day. Everything was'nt bad: New Yorker's were nice, the tourista were okay (outside of Times Square, that is!), the cab drivers were super, roaming the streets was entertaining, the Metropolitan Museum of Art was amazing, and the Chrysler Building (my favorite skyscraper) was as beautiful as ever. No KO sightings though.

(The fact that I banged my big toe against a door two days before we left and developed a painfull leg infection requiring antibiotics did'nt help.)

4. ooh, that's not good
Did they get the right antibiotic on the first try? I know how nasty infections can get; I had a bad encounter with MRSA a couple of years ago.

5. Apparently so, the redness and pain are going away but
my foot and lower leg are dramatically swollen.

7. swelling not good, but redness and pain going
away sounds very encouraging. I hope the antibiotics themselves aren't doing too much of a number on your system. Sometimes they're almost as bad as the infection!

2. Sorry to hear that Gogi.......
Take Amtrak next time :)

My worst experience in NYC is always better than my best day at home.

Sad, but true

8. Oh dear, sorry to hear things didn't go better.
At least you did have some fun. But the infection thing especially is really too bad. :-(

9. Not to mention Keith hiding from her and the other EDV's.,
leading us to speculate as to whether or not he was actually in the city.

Keith, Gogi's not dangerous. Crispini, on the other hand,...
